skilldrop search <words> finds skills, loops, agents and packs by what they're for, from the terminal and offline. It reads names, tags, packs, descriptions and the phrasings each skill's trigger evals route to it, so skilldrop search why did our conversion drop finds hypothesis-comparison. Every word must match, filler words are dropped, and if nothing matches every word it shows near matches and says so. Search a retired skill by name and you get its retirement note. --kind, --limit and --json refine it (RFC-0056).
The CLI is tested on Windows, macOS and Linux on every pull request: installs into folders and git repos, --project, --local, agents, loops, containment, policies, mirrors and a skill's own Python script. Every check passed on Windows the first time.
Fixed for Windows: - Five skills' scripts could fail on Windows. They read files with Windows' default encoding and stopped at the first non-ASCII character. They now read and write UTF-8: brand-kit, marketing-flyer, deck-builder, ai-usage-report and pre-merge-review. Run skilldrop update to get the fix. - validate.py now runs on Windows, so contributors can lint a clone there, and it rejects any script that reads text without an encoding.
