• file-to-markdown keeps PDF table columns apart when they sit close together. A right-aligned amount next to a left-aligned date used to merge into one cell ("1,137 2027-02-01"), because the PDF's text puts only one space between them. Columns are now told apart by where each word sits on the page, and a normal word space never splits a cell, even in a monospace font. A table that already came out right is unchanged. On a 60-row table exported from Word, every row now has its four columns.
